LAKE WORTH, Fla. (CBS12) — A robotic-based telehealth program is helping patients get physical therapy remotely during the coronavirus pandemic.
"We make a at-home robotic device, an at-home robot, that helps people get better," said David Wu, the CEO of Motus Nova.
Motus Nova is an Atlanta-based startup that uses artificial intelligence and robotics to give people occupational and physical therapy.
"In real time controlled by a clinician, a physical therapist or occupational therapist who can then do the rehabilitation therapy through a cloud connected platform with a remote interface," said Wu.
A man from Atlantis has been using Motus Nova’s equipment to recover following a brain injury.
"It's been 12 and a half years. I've lived in different places, I've tried every therapy that I thought that I knew in the world and then I found the Motus on Instagram," said Chris Dittrich, "I've seen big time benefit and again, it's a big deal for me when it can make such a difference in such a short amount of time."
