Sheriff: Victim connected to Panama City active shooter

    Walton County Sheriff's Office has confirmed one death in connection to the active shooter in Bay County.

    Deputies discovered 30-year-old Clinton Street dead in a home on White Heron Drive.

    The Bay County Sheriff's Office tells CBS12 News there is an active shooter situation going at an apartment complex in Panama City.

    Panama City Police tell CBS12 the scene is along W. 23rd Street and Beck Avenue.

    Witnesses told WJHG-TV they heard more than 50 gunshots in the area.

    The Walton County Sheriff's Office says it is assisting the Bay County Sheriff's Office with an "ongoing incident." A spokesperson said investigators are working a suspicious death case in Santa Rosa Beach and say it's related to the active shooter incident.

    Gov. Scott says he's been in contact with the Bay County Sheriff and is offering assistance.
