Prosecutors want death penalty for Nikolas Cruz

The State Attorney's Office wants the death penalty against Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old accused of killing 17 people at Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine's Day.

Broward State Attorney Michael J. Satz formally submitted paperwork Tuesday.

Cruz is facing 17 counts of premeditated murder and 17 counts of attempted murder for the mass shooting in Parkland last month.
