Police are searching for a man they say scalded his wife with hot water while she was in bed.

Pembroke Pines police say 62-year-old Everton Harrison attacked his wife for unknown reasons Sunday night, scalding her while she was lying in bed.

Harrison's wife begged him to take her to the hospital, police say.

Harrison finally agreed, but while the two were in the car he refused to take her to the hospital. Officers say he began driving around to unknown locations around US Highway 27.

At some point, police say Harrison stopped the car and got out along the highway. He retrieved bottles from the brushes along the road, broke them and began cutting himself on both arms.

Authorities say Harrison returned to the car and drove himself and the victim around for more than an hour before returning home.

Police say the woman was able to escape and call police at a neighbor's house.

First responders took the woman to a local hospital for treatment. Harrison has not been seen since.

Officers say he was last seen leaving his home on NW 11 Street in his 2010 Range Rover Sport. The vehicle is brown/bronze in color, with the Florida tag 481TXR.

Police say the severity of his injuries are unknown.

If anyone sees or locates Harrison, please contact police immediately.
