Police arrest man for charges involving kidnapping, assault of 16-year-old girl
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —
On Friday, 48-year old Peter Turner went before a judge facing 63 counts of sexual battery, kidnapping, battery of child and improper exhibition of a firearm.
Turner rented an efficiency behind a manufactured house on Cartier Road in West Palm Beach. CBS12 News spoke to the homeowner on the phone, who said she didn’t have much interaction with Turner in the two months he lived there.
However, she said there was always a girl who stayed with him whom she called Turner’s girlfriend.
But according to the police report, the girl is only 16 years old and attends a local high school.
The teen told police Turner gave her money, alcohol and drugs. On multiple occasions, he threatened to shoot her with a gun when she said she was going to leave and wouldn’t have sex with him.
A neighbor in the area, Jeff Roebuck, said he doesn’t know Turner, but is glad he was arrested.
“I freaked out," he said. “I’d hope one didn’t live that close to me anyways.”
Turner remains in jail without bond.
