John Staluppi to sell car collection worth $16M (WPEC)

John Staluppi is a self proclaimed “car specialist” a collector.

The North Palm Beach resident has one of the best collections on the East Coast, according to some car enthusiasts.

He calls them his Cars of Dreams Collection. It's a diverse group of American cars, predominantly convertibles, from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, along with custom vehicles and restorations.

More than 140 vehicles were on display at the South Florida Fairgrounds Tuesday.

It’s a “peek” into this weekend's auction. Bidding on the collection will begin Friday morning,

According to Staluppi, selling his collection is just what he does.

“ I’m about buying the cars," he said. "I enjoy finding the cars for the collection. I’m pretty proud of what I do. I try to find the best of the best cars.”

The estimated value of Staluppi’s collection is $16 million.

The 16th Annual Palm Beach/ Barrett Jackson Auction starts this Thursday and runs through Sunday.
