Free diver rescued, found unconscious 60 feet beneath surface
JUPITER, Fla. (CBS12) —
A free diver is in the hospital after being rescued at sea near the Jupiter Inlet.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, two men began spear fishing just after 6 a.m.. After about the eighth or ninth dive, one of the men noticed bubbles coming from his partner beneath the surface. The man went under water and found his friend unconscious and floating about 60 feet beneath the surface.
The man carried his partner to the surface,called 911 and performed CPR until the PBSO Marine Unit arrived.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews took the man to St. Mary's Medical Center. His condition is not known.
