A 32-year-old woman was hit and killed by a Virgin Trains USA (formerly Brightline) train Saturday afternoon, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Princess Davis.

The incident happened on the tracks near South Dixie Highway and 12th Avenue at 3:19 p.m.

According to PBSO, the train was travelling on the northbound tracks when two females tried to cross it. The conductor told deputies he sounded the horn multiple times, but one of the women tried to beat the train by crossing the tracks.

The woman was hit by the train and pronounced dead on scene.

The woman's next of kin has been notified and deputies say the death appears accidental.
