A woman is still pleading for the safe return of her diabetic and blind dog who she says was stolen from a popular grooming salon Saturday night.

Police have now named 48-year-old Heather Ryan of interest in the case.

Teddy has been a beloved part of the Cameron-Harris family for 11 years, and now the Maltese mix has been missing for two days.

“I’m more upset than angry right now,” said Teddy’s owner, Tara Cameron-Harris.

According to Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, a woman stole the dog by pretending to be the owner coming to pick him up at the Petco grooming salon at the Legacy Shopping Center.

Fortunately for the family, a new tip came in overnight. Cameron-Harris says she was told the woman picked up the dog around closing time, paid using a credit card and left. “She was crying, shaking very happy,” Cameron-Harris, “She even gave a dollar to the Petco foundation at checkout.”

Cameron-Harris’ concern for Teddy increases by the hour. Not only is he blind, he’s also Diabetic. So far, he’s missed four insulin doses.

“I’m really concerned with his health at the moment,” shared Cameron-Harris.

PETCO released this statement:

At Petco, the health and safety of the pets in our care is always our top priority. We’re aware of what happened at our Palm Beach store and we’re taking the situation very seriously. We’re conducting a thorough investigation and are cooperating with the local authorities on their investigation as well.
