VERO BEACH, Fla. (CBS 12) — One suspect is in custody after a shooting and car crash that took place in Vero Beach Sunday.

Police say that one person was shot and four others were injured during a crash.

2 people were trauma and transported to Lawnwood Medical Center and3 other people were sent to Cleveland Clinic

The shooter allegedly shot into a vehicle with 5 occupants in the parking lot of a BP gas station near Oslo and 20th Avenue. The vehicle then fled at a high rate of speed and crashed into two other cars on 20th Ave SW.

Authorities say that the incident appears to be drug related.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Office and Vero Beach police are investigating.
