ORLANDO, Fla. (CBS12) — Update:
Gary Lindsey Jr., the man accused of shooting Officer Kevin Valencia, killed himself and the four children he held hostage, ending a standoff that last over 12 hours, WKMG reported.
Valencia is still in critical condition, according to police.
Authorities say the convicted felon was out on probation when he shot and wounded Officer Kevin Valencia on Sunday. Valencia was responding to a domestic violence call when he was shot.
Authorities say two of the children are believed to be Lindsey's while the others are believed to be the women who called police.

An Orlando Police officer is recovering from severe injuries after being shot during a standoff on Monday morning.
According to OPD Chief John Mina, the suspect that shot the officer is barricaded inside an apartment with four children as hostages. Their ages range from 1, 7, 10, and 11 years old.
The officer is expected to survive.
Officers originally responded the Westbrook Apartment complex on Eaglesmere Dr. due to a domestic violence call at 11:45 p.m.
Chief Mina says his priority is to get the children out of the apartment safely.
SWAT is on scene negotiating with the suspect, police say.
