Health advisory canceled for Dubois Lagoon

No swim advisory issued for Dubois Park Lagoon (MGN)

UPDATED: The Florida Department of Health canceled its health advisory after a recent sampling showed bacterial levels were below 10 colonies per milliliter of marine water.

This puts the water in the good range, the department added.

The Florida Department of Health issued a no swimming health advisory for Dubois Park Lagoon due to bacteria levels in the water.

The water quality status there is poor, the departments says. A water sampling revealed that the bacteria levels are at 80 colonies per milliliter of marine water.

A health advisory means that contact with the water may lead to an increased risk of infectious disease.

While the causes are unknown, the department believes heavy rains and high surf may have contributed to the poor water quality.
