A woman accused of shooting her husband multiple times in Boynton Beach last month is not facing charges, at the moment.

According to court documents, the state "failed" to file formal charges against 53-year-old Lisa Barreca. But Mike Edmondson, a spokesman for the State Attorney's Office, told CBS12 all that means is the investigation, which is ongoing, passed the 30 day mark. Formal charges against Barreca could still be filed at a later date, Edmondson said.

Police arrested Barreca last month on a charge of attempted murder with a firearm.

"I've been shot about seven times," said Eric Barreca during his 911 call to police. "It's my wife, I smacked her and she *** shot me." Lisa Barreca can be heard on the 911 call saying she shot Eric because "he threatened my life."

Barreca's attorney told CBS12 she planned to use a stand your ground defense.

Police said the couple got into an argument over HOA complaints.
