From capsized vessels, to drugs washing up ashore, MCSO had a busy week

The Martin County Sheriff's Office Marine and Aviation Unit and the Martin County Fire Rescue (MCFR) had a busy week coming out of Memorial Day weekend, deputies say.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office say units responded to a capsized vessel, and while there were no injuries reported the boat was lost.

Deputies say in another incident a boater was injured when he jumped from a vessel and hit an anchor injuring his leg. Paramedics with MCFR were able to treat the man's injuries on scene.

The injured man was then taken to the hospital, deputies say.

Marine units also located a couple kilos of cocaine that washed ashore. Deputies say reports of drugs washing ashore has had a slight uptick.
