Police arrested a man in West Palm Beach after receiving a note with the suspect's name from the victim's mother.

According to West Palm Beach Police, officers arrived at 4415 Broadway Ave. on January 25, and found a man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

He told police the man responsible was a "black man named Calio with dreads, wearing a white shirt and black shorts."

WPBPD says on January 30 around 12:42 p.m. the victim's mother arrived at the department to speak with detectives. She stated her son cannot speak due to his injuries, but he wrote the name of his shooter on paper and signed it.

The name on the paper was "Calio." Detectives took this into evidence.

On February 3, officers arrived AT St. Mary's to speak with the victim. The man told police he was dropped off near 43rd St. and Broadway and headed toward his friend Jesse's house.

The victim ran into a man he knows as "Steve" who told him Jesse just shot himself. The victim said he was then confronted by Calio who told him not to call 911 because Jesse's kids were home.

According to the report, the two started fighting and Calio shot him in the face with a silver revolver.

Record Management System of WPBPD identified Calio as Calvin Nance, 23.

Nance is facing charges of attempted first degree murder, and possession of a weapon by a felon.
