Man 'shocked' near airport during storm


A man is in the hospital after being shocked by a metal gate during lightning activity in the area Monday afternoon.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue firefighters responded to Australian Avenue, just east of Palm Beach International Airport.

Firefighters say a man told crews he was "shocked an hour ago when closing a metal gate struck by lightning."

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for his injuries.
