Homicide victim in West Palm Beach identified

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A 26-year-old man was found dead Tuesday morning behind a house on Westview Avenue near 13th Street, West Palm Beach police said.

Courtney Jones was shot to death just before 2 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say he was shot several times and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Neighbors that spoke with CBS12 say the house where the body was found, has a busy past.

Andy Pereira is the HOA President of the Norwood Hills Community. He says the home where the victim was found is full of squatters.

"They've been in and out, sometimes you see 20 people, sometimes you see 30 people," said Pereira. "Sometimes you see families with kids and I started getting very concerned about it."

Police tell CBS12 that this homicide is now the 21st of 2017. That's more than double the amount of all of last year's total of 10.
