BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — A man from Delray Beach is facing charges for a fatal crash in Boca Raton.
Police arrested Sebaciano Cheridor, 24, on charges of vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter, and operating a motor vehicle without a license causing death.
Police said Cheridor, at the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz, crashed into another car on N. Federal Highway near NE 29th Street on February 20. The driver of the other car, 51-year-old Leann Michele Cheatham of Boynton Beach, was ejected and killed.
Information from the Electronic Data Recorder in the Mercedes showed the driver was going about 116 miles-pre-hour in the one second prior to the crash. The impact of the collision sent the engine block of Cheatham's Nissan 216 feet down the road. One witness compared the sound of the crash to an IED explosion.
Police said Cheridor never had a driver's license.
