A suspect who fled to the Bahamas is now behind bars, 12 years after a murder in West Palm Beach.

Ronald Anthony Charles, 38, is facing second degree murder charges in the death of Gregory Beasley.

West Palm Beach Police found Beasley's body in the alley along Lytle Street on June 10, 2006. The medical examiner said he suffered from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and arm. He also had 2nd and 3rd degree burns over most of his body, police said.

Investigators believe Charles shot Beasley in a pickup truck after meeting up with him at the Diamonds Cabaret club in North Miami Beach. Authorities said Charles and a friend took a rental car to dump Beasley's body in West Palm Beach where they set it on fire.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said Charles fled to the Bahamas shortly after the killing as investigators zeroed in on him as a suspect.

Authorities arrested him in the Bahamas earlier this month. He appeared in court Wednesday morning.
