'Love Serving Autism': New program for children with autism
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —
It's not always easy making friends. It can be especially difficult for children with disabilities.
There’s a new program that is serving up benefits for children with autism through the game of tennis.
“Love Serving Autism” founder Lisa Pugliese, a speech language pathologist, joined CBS12 News This Morning to explain how the game is improving their lives.
Pugliese specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
A former collegiate tennis player at the University of Florida, Pugliese enjoys combining her tennis experience with the ability to teach the sport to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
After working with children for years as a Program Director for a national non-profit for autism, Pugliese was inspired to be able to develop her own local non-profit, Love Serving Autism, a 501(c)(3) organization.
On Thursday, join “Love Serving Autism” for a Happy Hour fundraiser at Spoto's Oyster Bar located at 4560 PGA Blvd, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33418 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
