Atlas V rocket launch from Cape Canaveral

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (CBS12) — A rocket launch lit up the morning sky in South Florida.

An Atlas V Rocket launched from Cape Canaveral at 6:13 a.m. The launch came after two issues delayed the launch, set for when the window opened at 5:44 a.m.

The rocket is carrying the fifth Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) communications satellite for the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center.
