Two veteran Jupiter Police sergeants could lose their badge and be fired for taking part in jaw-dropping explicit behavior.

Details of the case are spelled out in an Internal Affairs report obtained exclusively by CBS12.

It’s the kind of sexual hijinks you might expect from a bunch of frat boys, but certainly not from police officers.

The Jupiter Police Chief is recommending that Jupiter Police Sgt. Jason Vansteenburgh should be fired after an Internal Affairs investigation found that in July 2015 “he received oral sex from Sgt. Amy Walling while on duty” and was untruthful during the interview proceeding.

According to the report that same year, “Sgt. Vansteenburgh took a photograph of himself exposing his penis while wearing a Jupiter Police SWAT uniform” and then sent the photo to Sgt. Walling.

According to the report approximately two years ago, “Sgt. Walling took a photo of herself posing in a Jupiter Police Department sergeant’s uniform shirt with her breasts exposed” and she sent the photo to Sgt. Vansteenburgh.

In a separate incident that could not be proven Sgt. Vansteenburgh is accused of making allegations to “shoot up the place.”

Members of the community are shocked to learn of the allegations.

“I think it’s inappropriate. You know, I think they should be representing the community that they’re serving and working for,” said Noelle Pahk, visiting Jupiter from Napa, California.

“I think it’s disgusting in public service so they deserve what they get coming I guess,” said Ken Lee, Jupiter resident.

“It shouldn’t happen. Regardless of whether they’re police officers or not, nobody should be doing that, because you expect more from somebody that’s on duty protecting you,” said Janet Vincze, Tequesta resident.

Jupiter Police would not comment on camera. The police chief is recommending that both should be terminated.

The recommendation goes to the Town Manager for a final decision.

Jupiter Police released this statement:

The Jupiter Police Department conducted a thorough Internal Affairs investigation which led to Chief Kitzerow’s recommendation for termination of employment of both Sergeant Amy Walling ( 20 years of service) and Sergeant Jason Vansteenburgh (17 1/2 years of service).

Chief Kitzerow’s Internal Affairs Investigative Conclusion report is currently with the Town Manager for review through the Town of Jupiter’s personnel policy process and for determination of concurrence with the Chief’s recommendation.

The actions of these individuals do not reflect the culture or organizational values of the Jupiter Police Department.
