Humane Society of the Treasure Coast offering free cats, critters during August
PALM CITY, Fla. (CBS12) —
Those looking to adopt a cat, kitten or critter at the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast are in luck.
During the month of August, the HSTC is offering free adoptions of all cats, kittens and critters as part of a partnership with the Best Friends Animal Society’s No More Homeless Pets Network and its “Summer to Save Them All” summer adoption promotion.
Dog adoptions will also be lowered to $20.
The usual fee is $45 for cat adoptions, $125 for dogs, $25 for rabbits, and $10 for guinea pigs.
“Now is the ‘purr-fect’ time to adopt as we are bursting at the seams with our furry friends and the cat, kitten and critter adoptions — which include rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters — are free,” said HSTC adoption manager Deidre Huffman. “Dog adopters will save $105 during this promotion."
The HSTC has nearly 50 critters and more than 200 cats in its care. There also are cats and kittens available for adoption at its two thrift stores in Stuart.
“We’re inviting the public to come on out to take a look and find the cat or critter that would be the ideal fit as the pet’s forever home,” Huffman said. “Or, visit our website at www.hstc1.org to view pictures of available animals."
