BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man from Boynton Beach told police he admitted to searching for child pornography online to satisfy his curiosity.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrested 84-year-old Arnold Weinstein on six counts of possession of child pornography.
In March, investigators checked a database of IP addresses previously involved in child pornography when they came across the videos. According to the arrest report, investigators traced the videos to Weinstein's home along Lucaya Avenue where he lived alone.
Deputies used a warrant to search his home in May. According to the report, Weinstein said he would get rid of anything that resembled child pornography, but later admitted he'd search for it because he was curious.
Weinstein also told investigators it'd been a year since he searched for child pornography and that he wouldn't look for content featuring children under the age of 13. However, deputies wrote in their report that some of the downloaded files on his seized devices depicted children younger than 10.
Weinstein told deputies, according to the report, he became curious as to "how they could get young kids like that."
According to jail records, Weinstein is free on bond.
