Governor Rick Scott asks for 1,000 volunteer nurses

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Early Saturday morning Florida Governor Rick Scott asked for volunteers on Twitter.

The request was for volunteer nurses to help at special needs shelters. Those interested in helping were asked to email:

The governor also tweeted 7,000 Florida guard members were stationed across the state to help Floridians stay safe during the storm.
