Hundreds of supporters attended the Palm Beach County GOP’s Lincoln Day Dinner fundraiser held at Mar-A-Lago Friday night.

Governor Rick Scott made an appearance, so did First Lady Melania Trump at a smaller VIP event. Event Organizers called the dinner a successful celebration because there is a Republican president in the White House.

“The people here are celebrating the fact we have a Republican president for the first time in eight years,” said National GOP Committeeman, Peter Feaman.

The Republican Healthcare bill was pulled just hours before the event, but attendees say it didn’t put a damper on their spirits.

“Well, they pulled it. It was not a fail," Barnett said. "I call it just a temporary delay in getting something passed because we have been charged with the responsibility of governing and were going to govern."

Barnett said even with turmoil in Washington, Republicans have much to celebrate. “Donald Trump he's the man of the hour. He's our Palm Beach County hometown-hero,” he said.

Around 700 seats were reserved at the president's South Florida home. Ticket prices started at $300 and peaked to a cost of $25,000, the highest ever for the fundraiser, thanks to President Trump according to Palm Beach County GOP Chairman Michael Barnett.

“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and the fifth year back at Mar-A-Lago,” Barnett said.

Guest speakers, a local school chorus and even celebrities took the stage.

“Our fundraising is up, our interest in the party is up; it seems that all boats go up in a rising tide,” Feaman said.

All proceeds will benefit The Palm Beach County GOP.

“It's the money we use to fund our operation to get Republicans elected, to run our campaign and election season operations,” Barnett said.

Event organizers are hoping to gross around a quarter million dollars from Friday's fundraiser.
