It is a cloudy and wet start to Wednesday for many. Coastal downpours will continue through the morning with the potential for heavy rainfall and lightning within an isolated storm.

A weak low-pressure area is expected to develop in the Gulf of Mexico and will meander towards South Florida through Friday.

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring the area but gives it a low chance of tropical development over the next few days.

As tropical moisture continues to surge into the area from this system, it will leave us with an unsettled weather pattern through the rest of the week.

Expect scattered showers and an isolated storm on Wednesday, with ample cloud cover too. This cloud cover and shower activity will help keep temperatures down, in the lower 80s this afternoon.

Storms that develop today could produce heavy rainfall. The entire area is under the threat for localized flooding within downpours today.

Higher shower and storm chances will continue through the end of the week and into the first weekend of June.
