Fort Pierce ranked 96th safest city in Florida
FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — The city of Fort Pierce is ranked as one of the safest communities in Florida, according to the Fort Pierce Police department.
A newly released report by the National Council for Home Safety and Security has the city ranked in the top 100, coming in at 96.
Fort Pierce Police shared the news on their social media page on Friday, as they thanked the community, and city for their combined efforts.
“This is a proud moment for our beautiful City. The partnership with our community, who are our eyes and ears, coupled with the dedication of our officers and support staff proves that together we can make a difference,” said Chief Diane Hobley-Burney.
A number of other cities in the area fared much better in the rankings.
North Palm Beach was ranked 10th, while Port St. Lucie came in at 12. Wellington was ranked 19th, while Jupiter was 33rd.
