Truck driver killed in crash on Florida Turnpike in Martin County

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A truck driver was killed in a crash on the Florida Turnpike in Martin County on Friday morning.

The crash happened just before 6 a.m. near mile marker 133, shutting down all southbound lanes.

Martin County Fire Rescue said one truck rear-ended another while driving at a high-rate of speed.

A second truck driver went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The third declined medical treatment.

Use I-85 as a detour.

It's one of two delays on the Florida Turnpike.

A car fire snarled traffic in the southbound lanes at mile marker 163. Crews blocked several lanes on both sides of the highway to put out the fire.
