LAKE WORTH, Fla. (CBS12) — Two people were displaced by a house fire on Lehto Lane Friday night, according to the American Red Cross.
A couple of Red Cross volunteers with the Chapter’s Disaster Action team helped coordinate emergency aid for the family.
One of the people displaced was taken to a nearby hospital, fire officials said, while their dog which was transported to a local veterinarian hospital.
The Red Cross is assessing immediate emergency needs such as food, temporary lodging and clothing and recovery supplies.
The Chapter’s Disaster Action team is a group of specially trained volunteers who respond to the scene of a local disaster when called upon – day or night.
