Giving back to families who have watched their little ones battle cancer.

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and the Children Battling Cancer Foundation are taking 20 families from South Florida on a two-night cruise to the Bahamas.

“It is hard to put into words. It is something we have really needed,” Ashley Labbad said.

Ashley and her two kids and husband have been looking forward to setting sail for the Bahamas.

“Really get to enjoy each other and not think of the stress of doctors’ visits because she is going to be followed for the next few years,” Labbad said.

Her daughter, Kira is only two years old and is recovering from cancer.

The nightmare started when Kira was just ten months old.

“It got to the point where she was screaming in her car seat and I knew something was wrong,” Labbad said.

Doctors found a mass of Kira’s kidneys and diagnosed Kira with neuroblastoma.

Eight rounds chemo followed, and Ashley’s father had a heart attack around the time her daughter was being treated.

“I had to take care of him and her at the same time,” Labbad said.

But now she can smile because there’s no evidence of disease left in little Kira’s body.

Ashley is grateful, as she watches her family enjoy each other while sailing into a healthy future,” Labbad said.
