MIAMI-DADE — An FPL substation is on fire following a possibly explosion in West Miami-Dade.
Nearly 27,000 are without power.
Flames and thick, black smoke can be seen along Northwest 72nd Avenue, between 61st and 62nd streets.
The fire is affecting traffic causing headache for Tuesday afternoon commuters.
CNN affiliate WSVN reports, Miami-Dade Police and Doral Police responded to the scene of the blaze shortly after officers heard a loud explosion, at around 4 p.m., and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue is now setting up for an attack on the flames.
Officials said traffic is being diverted at Runway 12 at nearby Miami International Airport.
Officers shut down Northwest 72nd Avenue in both directions, but the Palmetto Expressway remains open.
