Dog dragged behind truck in Riviera Beach now up for adoption (WPEC)

A dog that nearly died after being dragged behind a truck in Riviera Beach is now up for adoption.

CBS12 News has followed Destiny’s progress for more than two months as she recovered from multiple surgeries.

Right now, Destiny is living at a dog care facility in West Palm Beach hoping she’ll soon find her forever family.

Resilient doesn’t even begin to describe the black rescue dog named Destiny.

“Destiny is almost 100 percent healed at this point," said Gary Walter, owner of Central Bark. "She has a fee little scabs left. She’s now at Central Bark Doggy Day Care and we are looking for her forever home."

Destiny spent more than 60 days at a pet hospital undergoing more than 10 surgeries after she was dragged behind a pickup truck back in July.

Video we shot at the time shows the her extensive injuries she sustained.

“She is just sweet and for a dog that’s been through so much. You just wonder at time how they don’t dislike our race a little bit,” Walter said.

Walter and his wife are currently housing Destiny in their dog care facility.

“In our new home until she finds a forever home. Good girl,” he said.

Now don’t let her laying in bed fool you. Destiny is anything but lazy.

“I think she would be an excellent dog for a family who is very active because she likes to play,” Walter said.

She’s friendly, happy and loves playing with other dogs.

“There is no adoption fee. For Destiny its really just about the right family,” Walter said.

If you are interested in adopting Destiny just contact Central Bark or Salty Dog Paddle, the nonprofit that saved Destiny.
