An early morning crash in Royal Palm Beach injured two people, one being a deputy with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The crash took place at the intersection of State Road 7 and Okeechobee Blvd.

Deputies said a pickup truck driven by 47-year-old Joseph Sanchez failed to stop at a red light and rear-ended the deputy's patrol SUV. The impact sent the SUV into a third vehicle.

Investigators believe Sanchez may have been impaired, according to the crash report.

The deputy has been identified as Lenndy Chiquito-Rodriguez.

Both the deputy and the suspect in the crash were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect will be taken to jail after medical clearance. The sheriff's office doesn't expect Sanchez to appear in court or jail today.
