One person dead in fire in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — One person is dead following a fire in Port St. Lucie.

The first call came in around 3:30 a.m. at a multi-unit residence on Green Acres Circle.

Firefighters had the flames under control within 20 minutes.

Crews found an elderly woman outside the apartment home and when they went inside, they found the woman's son dead.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Smoking is being looked at as a potential cause.

The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Kevin Donohue. He lived at the home with his mother, Dolores Donohue.
