ORLANDO (CBS12) — People are anxious to get back on the water.
A travel agent in Orlando told WESH-TV bookings for Carnival Cruise Line trips are up 600 percent from this time last year.
Earlier this month, Carnival announced it would resume sailings in August from ports in Miami, Port Canaveral, and Galveston, Texas.
Cruise ships had to adhere to a no-sail order in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic, which forced some cruise ships to stay at sea for days.
Cruise Planners in Orlando wanted to make sure the spike in bookings is the result of its network of 2500 travel advisors, not necessarily a measuring stick for the sales performance of Carnival, WESH reported.
