Brothers plead guilty to killing Wellington teen
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —
Two brothers pleaded guilty to the murder of a Wellington teenager.
Augustine Rivera, 22, changed his plea and pleaded guilty to the second degree murder of 17-year-old Dalton Dobkins. He was shot to death at the Estates at Wellington Green in Nov. 2016. Rivera also pleaded guilty to burglary and grand theft charges.
Joel Rodriguez, 20, pleaded guilty to three counts of first degree murder for the killings of Dobkins and two other teens, Elijah Montas, 17, and Aaron Valle, 18. Rodriguez also pleaded guilty to attempted first degree murder of a law enforcement officer.
Police said he fired at Lantana Police during a burglary call.
Prosecutors were seeking the death penalty for Rodriguez. He's been sentenced to life in prison.
Rivera will serve about 18 years in prison.
