FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (CBS12) — The search has ended for a missing elderly woman after her body was recovered from a body of water in Fort Lauderdale.
The Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) said 70-year-old Caroline Woolery-Walters was found dead on Thursday evening. Dispatch received a call reporting a body in a river in Fort Lauderdale.
The missing persons alert was issued on June 7, after Woolery-Walters was last seen near 300 Terminal Drive at Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport (FLL). She was traveling from Jamaica to visit family in Philadelphia.
The sheriff's office said Woolery-Walters' body was found near Southwest Fourth Street shortly after 5:30 p.m.
