Volunteers from non-profit organization Boca Helping Hands united with Astoria Boca Raton Resort and Club employees to cook 1,000 meals. The event took place Thursday morning outside of the Boca Raton Glades Church where people gathered for a Thanksgiving dinner.

Free meals were given to families who registered for meal assistance in October. The two joined forces for the fifth year in a row. Boca Helping Hands provides tools for locals facing troubling situations in their lives.

John Tolbert, Managing Director of Boca Raton Resort and Club, said, "We just want to say how thankful we are supporting Boca Helping Hands and what a great organization it is."
