Missing Jacksonville boy found dead

Amari Harley (FDLE)

The Missing Child Alert issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for 3-year-old Amari Harley Sunday night has been canceled.

Deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office found Harley's body inside an underground tank in a city park Sunday night, where he is believed to have drowned.

Harley had last been last seen in the area of the 6500 block of Arlington Road, the FDLE said. He was wearing a black Star Wars Darth Vader T-shirt, black shorts and black and gold shoes.

A charity event was being held and there were a large amount of family members together, according to deputies. The family realized he was missing around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

It's unclear whether foul play was involved or how Harley got into the tank.

Detectives will be working through the remainder of Sunday night and an autopsy will be conducted on Monday.
