A man claimed he was cursed during a traffic stop in Marion County.

On Oct. 23 around 4 a.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office saw a vehicle driving in the area of SW 484 and the Northbound on-ramp of I-75, with its hazard lights on, and both driver's side tires appearing deflated.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop and noticed that the tires were not only deflated but that he was driving on what remained of the rim.

Deputies also noticed the driver was impaired.

When asked about the damage to the vehicle, the driver, Andres Orjuela-Montealegre, said someone put a curse on him and that he hit a curb a little hard.

Deputies then asked him to exit the vehicle noticing that he was unsteady when doing so.

Deputies say that they then asked Andres to perform field sobriety exercises, which he initially declined, while cursing, using insults, and informing the deputy that the damage to his car was "paranormal activity.”

Eventually, Andres changed his mind and decided to participate in the exercises.

Deputies say that as they began giving Andres instructions, he told the deputy that he was going to "break [the deputy’s] head with a baseball bat" and "Skin [the deputy] alive."

This continued to be an issue and eventually led to his arrest.

While searching Andres, he spit in the deputy's face while continuing to spout threats.

He then began to grab the deputy's taser in an attempt to unholster it but was unsuccessful.

Deputies say he had to be picked up and placed in the back of the patrol vehicle, where he kicked at and struck both deputies. Andres continued to and spit all over the back of the deputy’s vehicle.

After arriving to the jail, Andres refused to submit a breath test, stating to deputies, "I got your test right here."
