A 'white Christmas:' Stuart man found snorting cocaine in a truck

Ryan Carter (Stuart Police Department)

A 25-year-old man was arrested last week for reportedly doing cocaine, Stuart police said.

On Dec. 22, officers were conducting holiday business patrols near 2400 Monterey Road, according to police. An officer found a parked pickup truck with someone sitting inside with their head down.

When the officer went to check it out, he found Ryan Carter with a pill bottle containing white powder or pills on his lap, police said. As Carter opened the door, the pill bottle fell and white powder spilled out onto the ground.

The white powder turned out to be cocaine.

Additional cocaine, baggies and a scale were also found in the truck, according to police.

Carter is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to the Martin County Jail, where he was held on a $25,500 bond.
