Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Larry Peavy, a man accused of sexually assaulting and killing a teenage girl in central Florida.

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office, along with other Florida law enforcement agencies, have been searching for 35-year-old Larry Peavy since Nov. 5.

Authorities say Peavy sexually assaulted the victim, 16-year-old Aleaya Jackson, and her friend. The second victim was able to notify police of what happened. Not long after, Sumter County deputies found Jackson's body inside a home in Bushnell.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the girl was found with black tape around her neck and mouth. Court documents name the cause of death ligature strangulation, according to CBS affiliate WKMG.

Peavy has active warrants on charges of kidnap-false imprisonment, sex assault with a weapon or force, kidnap-commit or facilitate the commission of a felony and homicide-murder in the first degree premeditated.

The car authorities believe Peavy was driving was spotted days after the murder in Fort Pierce. Law enforcement along the Treasure Coast continue to search for Peavy.
