Wandering 4-year-old boy reunited with parents in Boynton Beach
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —
A four-year-old boy was reunited with his family in Boynton Beach Wednesday morning after wondering away from home.
Police say the four-year-old and his parents just moved into the Clipper Cove Apartments Tuesday.
His parents were exhausted and fell asleep, that’s when the boy just wondered outside with his teddy bear and lost his way, police said.
A woman in the complex saw him around 1:30 in the morning and called police.
Officers went door to door in the 380 unit complex but couldn’t find his parents.
Mary Johnson is the director of Stepping Stones Learning Center in Delray Beach, where the boy is enrolled in daycare, says she was just lying in bed half asleep when the boy’s picture popped up on her TV and she called police.
“No matter how sleepy I am,” says Johnson. “I always take a look at the television. I want to recognize that child because I work with children everyday and that is my concern.”
Police tell CBS12 no charges will be filed in the incident.
