3 teens arrested for burglarizing deputy's car, stealing weapons

Three teens were arrested Sunday after authorities say they burglarized a deputy's locked unmarked vehicle.

Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff's Office say 14-year-old Dominic Cicchini, 16-year-old James Mathis and 17-year-old Joe Parker broke into a deputy's car on July 2 and stole several items, including weapons.

Deputies say they were able to recover some of of the stolen property and are continuing to search for the remaining items.

"This crime was against all citizens of Lee County, and we will not rest until everyone responsible is brought to justice, and we have recovered all stolen items,” saidUndersheriff Carmine Marceno.

Both Mathis and Parker have been charged with one count of burglary to a conveyance and one count of grand theft of a law enforcement officer's equipment. Cicchini was charged with one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor.

Deputies say the investigation is still very active.
