UPDATE: According to police, 34-year-old Rose Wilmer drove a silver Nissan Pathfinder with six passengers, five of whom were minors.

Police say Wilmer drove west on Hypoluxo while a black Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 32-year-old Jaime Castro, drove east. Castro turned to head north on Venetian Drive when he was struck by Wilmer's Pathfinder. Castro hit a utility pole, and Wilmer went through the intersection and struck a red Dodge Ram.

One of the minors was taken to Delray Medical Center, and the other passengers were taken to JFK Medical Center, according to police. The driver and passenger of the Dodge Ram were not injured.

UPDATE: Hypoloxo Road is now back open, according to police

A three car crash in Boynton Beach left eight people injured Saturday afternoon, one of them a child.

Seven people were taken to JFK Medical Center while a child was taken to Delray Medical Center via trauma alert, police added.

Boynton Beach police say the accident occurred on Hypoluxo Road and Venetian Drive and caused all westbound lanes of Hypoluxo Road west of Congress Avenue to be shut down. People who live off of Venetian Drive are able to enter and exit their houses however, police said.
