If you've been on Facebook lately, you've left behind a trail.

It's tracking your every move.

That is why you see ads pop up everywhere for products and services you search or view.

How do they do it?

Facebook is lurking in the background of your browser while you go from site to site.

The media giant keeps a record and then sells it to advertisers.

It's an invasion of privacy says Realtor Victoria Piroso.

"The dark side of having these cookies track you is they know a lot more about you than you want to know," she said.
