Lake Park gives over 500 student free backpacks, school supplies


The Town of Lake Park held their annual Back to School Explosion last Saturday at Lake Park Town Hall, where they provided 535 local students with free backpacks filled with school supplies.

Attendees also had the opportunity to register for free health screenings with Florida Atlantic University and the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, as well as free haircuts by Palm Beach Academy of Health & Beauty, according to a press release.

This free event also included food, beverages, face painting, a mobile arcade, access to community programs and other resources needed for academic success.

Town Manager, explained “The Back to School Explosion assisted students with having the best learning opportunities possible, beginning with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom," town manager John D’Agostino said.
