RIVIERA BEACH, Fla (CBS12) - CBS12 News, United Way of Palm Beach County, Make An Impact Foundation and Miracle Recreation have come together to bring Riviera Kids Play project to our neighborhood. The goal of this playground build is to enhance the communities and improve the quality of life for children and families in Riviera Beach.
First, get pumped for Design Day! About 50 local students will be gathering at JFK Middle School’s Family Literacy Center to design their perfect playgrounds. "We are pleased to bring the love of the community via playground projects to the kids of Riviera Beach" said Dale Gillmore, Chairman Make An Impact Foundation. Sinclair Market Manager, Mike Pumo, couldn’t agree more saying, “Together, we celebrate young innovative minds; some of the students’ designs will be incorporated into the final playground design.”
Then, we break ground as the playground build kicks off (Date: TBA) with dozens of volunteers putting the final touches on Timber Pine Park 2708 W. 28th Street Riviera Beach, FL, 33404. After the park is completed, the community is invited to the Ribbon Cutting Celebration at Timber Pine Park with music, pizza, cake and lots of play!
Funding to date has been provided by Children’s Services Council, Quantum Foundation and Healthier Neighbors, raised by United Way of Palm Beach County. United Way President & CEO Dr. Laurie George said of the project, “We are proud to partner to bring updated and safe playgrounds to the Riviera Beach Community. We understand how important play is to the healthy development of our youth – it’s just as meaningful as it is to have a nutritious meal and a quality education. This work aligns perfectly with our mission of helping our residents have access to the basics needed for a good life.”
The #RivieraKidsPlay project will help children enjoy the great outdoors, “CBS12 News, CW34 and Azteca48 are proud to be a part of this project to enrich the lives of children in our viewing area” said CW34 General Manager Bob Butterfield
