Zika virus confirmed in Palm Beach County

The Zika Virus has now been confirmed in Palm Beach County, the only new case reported by the Florida Department of Health.

There are 76 cases statewide, but only three people are still showing symptoms of Zika. Those symptoms includefever, rash, joint pain, or conjunctivitis (red eyes).

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the symptoms can last between seven and 10 days.

Health experts are advising pregnant women or women who wish to become pregnant to avoid Zika-affected areas. Be sure to talk with your health care provider if you have any questions about the Zika virus.
